Translocation of Soil Arsenic towards Accumulation in Rice: Magnitude of Water Management to Minimize Health Risk

چکیده
Globally, the risk of arsenic (As) contamination in soil and rice is well documented across globe. In Bangladesh, drinking water are two major exposure pathways As to humans. Therefore, efficiency recent technologies reduce associated human health risks still need be deeply investigated. this direction, a pot experiment was performed investigate impact agronomic irrigation management on (cv. BRRI dhan28) growth, yield, accumulation, finally, humans from consuming rice. Treatment combinations were made with three levels (0, 20, 40 mg kg−1) having procedures, including alternate wetting drying (AWD) traditional continuous flooding (CF). According findings, pollution lowered yield contributing features panicle length, filled grains per panicle, sterile 1000-grain weight, grain straw yield. AWD significantly improved growth performance productivity Grain increased by 13% compared CF. Rice concentrations 0.56 kg−1 15.10 kg−1, respectively, CF management. treatment reduced contents 16% 28%, respectively. Increased grain, straw, total uptake noticed higher concentrations. The study also found that rising raised non-carcinogenic (HQ > 1) carcinogenic (CR 1.010–4) while Thus, farming using could viable long-term solution for reducing hazards.

Arsenic Tracking in Iranian Rice: Analysis of Agricultural Soil and Water, Unpolished Rice and White Rice
Since rice is a staple food most consumed world-wide, there have been increasing health concerns regarding exposure to arsenic through rice consumption. Several studies have reported the accumulation of arsenic in rice grains cultivated in regions with elevated levels of arsenic in groundwater or contaminated soil. Therefore the principal aim of this study was determining the amount of arsenic ...

For Bangladesh, the requirement for food is very high due to its huge population. To achieve self-sufficiency in food grain production, the HYV rice varieties are widely produced in Bangladesh, particularly in the dry season, and this requires a large volume of groundwater irrigation. Groundwater of many areas of our country is severely contaminated with arsenic. So, there is a possibility of a...
متن کاملWater management affects arsenic and cadmium accumulation in different rice cultivars.
Paddy rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a staple food and one of the major sources of dietary arsenic (As) and cadmium (Cd) in Asia. A field experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of four water management regimes (aerobic, intermittent irrigation, conventional irrigation and flooding) on As and Cd accumulation in seven major rice cultivars grown in Zhejiang province, east China. With incre...
